THE MOLDE & KRISTIANSUND AREA FJORDS

Overview:

The Molde and Kristiansund area is a nice mix of urban, coastal, and inland fjords. The driving tours around the region are stellar. Romsdalfjord has literally hundreds of tall peaks, with stunning offshoots of Trefjord and Innfjord. The famous Atlantic Road and Trollstigen drives bring the tourists . . . but are still worth it despite the heavy crowds (for Norway).

Driving in Molde & Kristiansund Area Norway:

Exploring via car is a must in this region. The first path of the Trollstigen up and out of Andalsnes is one of the most amazing road-engineering feats you will ever witness. The Atlantic Road, though a little over-hyped perhaps, is another unique drive. Tresfjord and Innfjord are some fo the Northern Fjords at its best . . . vertical, quiet, small fjords, with amazing snow-capped valleys all around.even in summer. The drive along Romsdalfjord, though a sizable road, is fantastic . . . great coves, one after the next, all with great views up the fjord.
